The Life of Rudy Moreno

Many referred to Rudy Moreno as “The Godfather of Latino Comedy” because of his hilarious jokes and heavy relation to the Latino community. Many people would watch Rudy Moreno’s comedy skits, as he also participated with other comics as well. He participated in many different important events. As a result of how successful he was, he starred in many famous films such as “Criminal Minds” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.” That goes to show that the world loved his comedy, and how he related to the Latino community. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart to report that he has passed away at the age of 66. 

Rudy Moreno’s Career

What started as a simple opening for a band, turned into something greater after they saw how funny he truly was. “After seeing Moreno perform, television producer Jeff Valdez booked him for “Comedy Compadres,” which showcased Latino comics,” according to the Los Angeles Times. 

In addition to being booked for comedy skits, he was also featured in many TV series. “made appearances on numerous shows over the years, including Everybody Loves Raymond, The Shield, George Lopez, Monk, Arrested Development, American Vandal, Mom, Monk, Kingpin, Criminal Minds, Judging Amy, and Dave,” according to Entertainment News. 

A fellow comedian, Ken Jeong, was also heavily distraught after receiving the news. Ken Jeong and Rudy Moreno were very close, and he was heavily inspired by Moreno’s acts. They were very close friends. “My heart is truly broken. Rudy Moreno, the Godfather of Latino Comedy, was the first person to book me at the Ice House,” Ken Jeong mentioned to Entertainment News.

A cause of death has still not been posted, but it was confirmed he was in the ICU on April 23rd following a fight with pneumonia. 

Rudy Moreno’s Legacy

Despite Rudy Moreno not being on Earth physically, it can be said that he left a lasting impact within the world. Not just the world of comedy, but the world as a whole. Many people were truly inspired by the works of Rudy Moreno, and were shaped to be the best they could be, thanks to him. \
