Pythons, Their Beauty, and Their Scary Length
Pythons are a beautiful type of snake and are certainly an animal that you should watch out for. Despite small ones being virtually not harmful whatsoever, it is the larger ones that should be avoided. It really all depends on the length, as they come in different sizes across the world.
The larger pythons are the ones that should be watched out for, and therefore staying away from them is the best option. However, if they are intentionally bothered, they can certainly cut deep within the skin, and leave quite the scar. However, despite this, it is still possible to have them as ‘pets’, but they need to be very well trained.
Largest Python Ever Recorded in Florida
There has been news that the biggest Burmese python has been caught in Florida, something absolutely historic. “She’s massive, invasive and covered in scales: A record-breaking 215-pound, 18-foot-long Burmese python has been captured in Florida,” according to CNN News. This is something that has never been seen before. However, extreme care has to be taken around her, as she could easily attack at any given moment. Catching her could have singlehandedly saved a lot of wildlife, as pythons prey mostly on them.
The Future of This Python, and Her Information
There will be new information coming out about this python within the near future. However, since she was just captured, it will take some time to gather the data needed to make an appropriate statement.
Since it is a female, her laying eggs was a major concern. “They’re getting huge while eating our native wildlife,” Easterling said.
“The bonus is that these guys that captured it, they brought it to us for the official measurements, so we’ll be collecting the genetic information and the diet information and other data,” according to News-Press. Therefore, as time continues, more information will be made available in regard to this massive python. However, in the meantime, capturing more pythons will certainly be beneficial for wildlife in general.
