Recently. Six Flags Great America located in Gurnee, IL made an announcement stating their brand new upcoming dive in coaster that will break records.

Six Flags 2025

A few months ago, an announcement was made about Six Flags merging with another big amusement park, Cedar Fair. This meant that both Six Flags and Cedar Fair would become one. While many peopled worried about what this meant for the parks, if there would be any drastic changes, both amusement parks confirmed and assured that no drastic changes would be done to the parks.

Now, due to this merge, Six Flags has benefitted a lot from the merge as their profits have gone up tremendously. Which is why they have announced a new coaster in the making coming in 2025. For weeks they have been giving encrypted hints to the public about what this coaster would be. But just last week, they finally announced it. It is a dive coaster named “Wrath of Rakshasa”.

According to Six Flags, this coaster will be breaking world records as the steepest drop. It will also have the most inversions any other coaster has. It will have a 171 foot drop. It will be 96 degrees steep and will include five inversions. A diving coaster is a roller coaster that has a big vertical drop, however, the cart will be held right at the top of the drop for a couple of seconds before it is let go of unexpectedly giving the riders a fright and thrill.

Diving coasters also have a wider seating arrangements than typical coasters, holding up to nine passengers per seating line, but only has a couple of rows. This new coaster is stated to be beyond vertical. “Six Flags Great America continues to push the limits of innovation and thrills, as we introduce the world’s steepest drop with the most inversions on a dive coaster,” said Park President John Krajnak. The public is more than excited for this new coaster coming next year.
