Offender Charged with Attempted Murder of 32-Year-Old Male
Offender: Christopher Benson Jr., 25
2700 block of N. Hoyne Ave.
Chicago, Illinois
Charge: One (1) felony count – Attempt – Murder – First Degree
Court: Detention Hearing – 2600 S. California – May 14, 2026
Narrative: The above offender was arrested by members of the Chicago Police Department and U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on May 12, 2026, in the 2400 block of W. Belmont Ave. He was identified as the offender who, on February 21, 2026, stabbed and seriously injured a 32-year-old male victim in the 8500 block of S. Calumet Ave. (6th District). The offender was placed into custody and subsequently charged accordingly. No additional information is available at this time.
