Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Is Consolidating Power

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has been creating a significant amount of political and institutional changes. Experts have stated that the Mexican President is reshaping the government’s power structure and influence. Analysts describe the Mexican President’s new implications on the administration is a deliberate effort to “cleaning house.” The Mexican President is targeting corruption, reshuffling key political allies, and taking control over policymaking. Claudia Sheinbaum is currently pushing ambitious reforms across Mexico’s justice, security and political systems.

Mexican President Targeting Crime And Corruption

In recent months Claudia Sheinbaum has escalated an operation that targets federal officials tied to organized crime and corruption. This operation has led to dozens of arrests that include mayors, municipal security directors, and other officials. Some of those officials included people from her own ruling party. This signifies the Claudia Sheinbaum’s willingness to pursue accountability even within her political establishment.

The Mexican President Targeting Corruption From The Inside

Apart from anti-corruption actions, the Claudia has also reshuffled senior political figures that are liabilities or competitors. Some former allies have also been removed out of powerful roles. Other notable figures that have been removed are former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Claudia Sheinbaum is intending to reduce her predecessor’s influence over the Mexican government.

Claudia has also implemented stricter institutional changes as well. These legislative changes are supported by Morena party and they reorganize parts of the federal government and overhaul Mexico’s judicial appointment system. Claudia has shifted towards popular elections for judges and a reforming that has drawn both strong backing and controversy nationwide.

Democratic Party Doesn’t Agree With The Changes

Some critics argue these new stricter policies could undermine the democratic oversight because the party holds significant legislative majorities. Supporters of Claudia say her actions are long-overdue and she should continue her moves against stopping corruption and criminal infiltration of politics. Claudia is reshaping Mexico’s political party and it will most likely define her presidency’s approach towards the administration policies in Mexico.
