Donald Trump Will Deliver The 2026 State Of The Union Address
President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver the 2026 State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in the House Chamber of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. This is Donald Trump’s first formal State of the Union since returning to the presidency in January 2025 and his fourth overall delivered to Congress.
The State of the Union is a constitutional custom in which the president reports on the condition of the country and outlines policy priorities and legislative goals for the rest of the year. Each President has different ways of how they deliver the speech. Donald Trump’s speech is a major televised event broadcasted live across all networks and streaming platforms.
The 2026 Union Speech Will Be Much Longer Than Usual

Donald Trump has stated that his speech will be longer than usual. The President is saying he may surpass his own record length set during a joint session speech in 2025 that took nearly 100 minutes. Donald Trump’s speech was the longest ever recorded in history.
Some major topics that are expected to be addressed include economic issues, inflation, affordability, immigration, trade policy, and other central themes of his administration. Donald Trump and his team will use this major platform to argue their accomplishments and push for legislative support. Donald Trump’s strategic approach is due to midterm elections approaching later this year.
Special Guest’s
This major event also involves special guests and members of Congress. This year the special guests include the men’s U.S. Olympic hockey team. The women’s team politely declined due to scheduling commitments after their recent gold medal win.
Counter Arguments From The Democratic Party
This major event also includes counter arguments from the Democratic leaders overshadowing their critique of Trump’s policies and alternative priorities. Participation from lawmakers on both sides will determine how the address is received from a political standpoint. The public’s reaction to both of these counter arguments will most likely shape how the upcoming midterm election goes.
