The Unites States Justice Department has reviewed 13,000 documents concerning sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and there are still two million documents remaining.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told the judge there are 400 lawyers and 100 analysts reviewing the documents redacting the names of those who accused Epstein of abuse. “The Department remains committed to providing as much protection to the privacy interests of victims and their relatives as is practicable,” Bondi told U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer on Jan. 5, 2026.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-New York says Congress is not even sure how many more files exist to be released. He blames Trump’s “lawlessness” for the delay. Congress told the Justice Department to release all of the files concerning Epstein’s sex trafficking efforts by Dec. 19, 2025 and to explain the hold up in a report by Jan. 2, 2026.
On Dec. 24, 2025, the Justice Department stated it identified one million documents from FBI files that has not yet been reviewed. The latest filing showed 12, 285 and 125, 575 pages had been reviewed thus far but two million more were “under various phases of review.”
Including in these documents are handwritten notes, pictures, and other forms of evidence. These documents prove Epstein socialized with powerful politicians and business leaders, however, no other suspects have been revealed.
