High Tension In State Of The Union Address
During the high tension State of the Union address one of the house Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is backing up his party’s behavior during President Trump’s speech. Some critics are calling the event chaotic and Jeffries argued that the reactions from his outbursts were a natural response to what he stated as a constant stream of chaos and cruelty coming from the administration.

Before the event, Jeffries had reportedly urged his fellow Democrats to practice a silent defiance because he wanted them to show they disagreed with the President’s policies. Jeffries wanted to be there without causing a massive scene. The Democrats protocol did not go as planned and as the speech went on for nearly two hours emotions started to heighten. Some Democrats held up signs while others chose to boycott the event entirely. Many of the seats were empty in the chamber as a visible form of protest.
President Wasn’t Telling The Whole Truth
Hakeem Jeffries told his team, “If you go to the big speech be quiet but show you’re unhappy”, but when the President started talking about things like replacing income taxes with tariffs some Democrats just couldn’t stay quiet. The Democrats team shouted out or held up signs because they thought the President wasn’t telling the whole truth. Jeffries is stating to the public that his team had every right to be upset because they feel the current governments state is making life harder for the average American.
