Knife-Wielding Man Shot and Killed
In one case where people were stabbed, there were three people who became victims of the attack before the attacker died after being shot by police bullets. The attacks occurred during rush hour time when panic broke out among the people.
As per the officials, the attack began when a man armed with a gun attacked several people in a New York City subway train. Their injuries were different, and they have all been hospitalized. Up till now, there is nothing new regarding their condition.
The witnesses remember the scene of chaos that took place inside the train compartment.
Police Response and Fatal Shooting
The officers of the NYPD received an emergency call for action in regard to the matter, and on arrival at the scene, they apprehended the suspect. Based on the report, the officers encountered a person who had the gun and was very hostile, as per NYPD accounts. The officers asked the person to put down the gun but the person did not comply.
Subsequently, the officers used their firearms, causing the death of the suspect. It is noteworthy that investigations into the matter are still in progress and the number of times the officers discharged their guns remains unclear.

Ongoing Investigation
There has been no information given concerning the attacker and his motives. It is also currently under investigation whether it is targeted violence or merely an act of a disturbed person.
The train service concerned had to be halted until the investigations came to an end. The services have since been resumed but the travelers are not relaxed considering the act of violence that occurred.
Public Safety Concerns
This incident has thrown questions about the security of the transportation system in New York City into sharp relief. This is considering the fact that, despite variations in trends of criminal activities in some categories in particular, there have been several highly sensational instances of violent occurrences in the recent past.
However, representatives from the city authorities noted that such incidences occur rarely and do not represent a regular occurrence. According to the management of the city’s public transportation system, they are working in cooperation with the police department to tighten up control mechanisms following the occurrence of this incident.
Further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting will be made known in due time.
