Mayor Whitmire and Downtown Houston+ to hold Main Street Promenade ribbon-cutting
WHAT:
Mayor Whitmire will join Downtown Houston+ to discuss how stakeholders have created a lasting legacy for Houstonians.
More than 200 park, public space, mobility, and infrastructure projects are wrapping up before the FIFA World Cup 2026™ kickoff, creating long-term benefits for the City of Houston.
WHEN:
Saturday, May 30
11 a.m. – Remarks begin
11:45 a.m.- A Main Street Promenade ribbon-cutting photo opportunity will take place at the intersection of Main Street and Texas Avenue.

During the news conference, Downtown Houston+ will debut an exciting new video entitled, “Built for Us / Ready for the World.”
