Rambo Prequel Set for Release in 2027
Four decades after the emergence of John Rambo on screen, the iconic series of action movies will be brought back to its roots.
With the prequel movie named John Rambo, the series of films will be released in 2027. The film is already finished and it will tell the story about young John Rambo before the story of the 1982 film named First Blood.
In contrary to other movies that depict the older and wiser John Rambo, this time he will be depicted when he was young and how the war made him a traumatized soldier, whom we later meet in the film First Blood.
Casting for the New Movie
The aspect of casting in the new movie is one that has generated a lot of controversy regarding the new release.
Despite the fact that Sylvester Stallone decided not to play the character of John Rambo for decades, he was replaced by Noah Centineo as the titular character when young. The decision to cast this actor as the character of Rambo was met with resistance from ardent fans of the films due to the brilliant depiction of the character by Stallone.
However, the movie is still associated with the legendary original actor.
Stallone, the legendary actor, has made his debut as the producer of this new film that will have him featured onscreen.
Why Are the Fans Split About This Proposal?
As weird as it may seem, this piece of news resulted in quite a controversial reaction from the audience on various social media platforms.

At the same time, the majority of other people think that there is nothing to discover here, since all the necessary things have already been revealed in the first movie First Blood. The main intrigue that made it unique was the lack of knowledge about Rambo’s experience after returning from the war.
Challenge Increases Even Further for Hollywood
It comes out in the context of a period in which studios are making efforts to bring some of their old franchises back from the past decades of 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
The Hollywood blockbusters have always had characters who have achieved celebrity status in popular culture. Now what will face John Rambo is whether the audience will accept further adventures of this legendary character in action movies even without Stallone.
At least, for now, this film seems to be unique amidst various franchise revivals in Hollywood.
Regardless of how the fans will evaluate this movie, one thing remains clear – Hollywood still does not seem to get enough of John Rambo.
