Slew of Armed Robberies in Chicago

This alert gives notice of recent armed robberies with a handgun, armed robberies with another dangerous weapon, and strong-arm robberies in the Lake View, River North, and Streeterville neighborhoods within the 018th (Near North) and 019th (Town Hall) Districts.

In each of the robbery incidents, the victims were approached by the offender(s), who then robbed the victims of their cellphones/property by the use of force, threat of force, or at gunpoint. After taking the victim’s cellphone, the offender(s) performed illegal financial transactions utilizing the victim’s phone.  In five of these robberies, the victim was coerced into the offender’s vehicle and was driven around while the offenders performed fraudulent transactions on the victim’s phone.

1-4 Male, African American, 25-40 years old, 5’06”-6’05”, 140-250 lbs. The offenders used a dark colored SUV, a silver 4-door sedan, a dark colored 4-door sedan, and a black BMW SUV in a few of these robberies.

Esta alerta notifica sobre robos a mano armada recientes con arma corta, robos a mano armada con otra arma peligrosa y robos con violencia física (sin armas) ocurridos en los vecindarios de Lake View, River North y Streeterville, dentro de los Distritos 018 (Near North) y 019 (Town Hall).

En cada uno de los incidentes de robo, la(s) víctima(s) fue(ron) abordada(s) por el/los delincuente(s), quien(es) posteriormente despojó (despojaron) a las víctimas de sus teléfonos celulares y/o pertenencias mediante el uso de la fuerza, la amenaza de fuerza o a punta de pistola. Tras apoderarse del teléfono celular de la víctima, el/los delincuente(s) realizó (realizaron) transacciones financieras ilícitas utilizando el teléfono de la víctima. En cinco de estos robos, la víctima fue obligada a subir al vehículo del delincuente y fue transportada por la zona mientras los delincuentes realizaban transacciones fraudulentas con el teléfono de la víctima.

1-4: Hombre, afroamericano, de 25 a 40 años de edad, entre 5’06” y 6’05” de estatura, entre 140 y 250 libras de peso. Los delincuentes utilizaron un vehículo utilitario deportivo (SUV) de color oscuro, un sedán plateado de 4 puertas, un sedán de color oscuro de 4 puertas y un SUV BMW negro en algunos de estos robos.
