Trump Reveals Freedom 250 Rally Lineup After Concert Plan Falls Apart
Freedom 250 event that is set to take place in Washington D.C. has an entirely new line up since initially scheduled concert line up collapsed due to artists withdrawing from the concert over the purpose of the event.
Initially scheduled for the 24th day of June, Freedom 250 rally will now have President Trump as keynote speaker together with performance by singer Lee Greenwood, tenor Christopher Macchio, and a number of military bands. This rally has something to do with 250th anniversary of the establishment of the country.
In contrast to the old line up that was set to happen as a concert to commemorate Freedom 250 anniversary of the country’s establishment, there are many differences. Some of the popular artists initially invited to join the entertainment program withdrew from the show because of misunderstanding regarding the political affiliations of the event.
Popular artists who initially confirmed their participation in the show included Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, Morris Day and The Time, Commodores, and more.
From Concert Series to Rally
This performance will include Greenwood, who is popular for his song “God Bless the U.S.A”; Macchio, who has already done shows at many of Trump’s rallies; and various military bands such as the U.S. Army Band, the U.S. Marine Band, the Armed Forces Choir, and the Joint Armed Forces Chorus.
This is the kind of change this event has undergone from being the originally intended public concert into something that revolves around the president and celebrates the spirit of patriotism.
In other words, this is the core of this whole story.
National anniversaries are meant to be civic celebrations. This involves the use of music and performances together with the active involvement of the public in order to recall memories. However, the Freedom 250 event proves that such civic celebrations can be easily turned into something else simply because of the individuals who organize them.
Artist Withdrawals Reshaped the Event
Nevertheless, organizing the Freedom 250 Show turned out to be challenging for Trump because numerous celebrities refused to participate in this event. First, according to the information provided, there were musicians that were unaware of the political aspect of the show. Second, some other musicians tried to get out of the participation from the moment the show got publicity and its connection with Donald Trump became clear.

Nevertheless, in order to compensate for their absence, Trump announced another rally that would turn out to be more patriotic than the previous one.
It turns out that most of the performers that will participate in the upcoming rally are artists whose musical programs include patriotic songs and performances.
Consequently, the rally is going to be quite different from the previous one.
In particular, instead of the variety show, Trump is going to conduct the patriotic one.
A National Celebration Becomes a Political Flashpoint
The US national anniversary being close to its 250th anniversary, many events are expected in the US. These range from parties to exhibitions of history of the country. The problem with all these events is revealed by the Freedom 250 rally incident. Some may consider this new rally to be an effort on the part of the organizers to rectify the mistake made in considering this to be a patriot event.
However, regardless of what the organizers think, this event will still be perceived as a political one due to the problems created by the Freedom 250 rally controversy.
This, therefore, is the most important aspect of the event.
What Happens Next
June 24 rally needs to take place as expected with Trump, Greenwood, Macchio, and the military bands all included in the plans. However, America 250 must be allowed to progress even after the change brought about by the cancellation of the concerts which have altered the discussion of Freedom 250.
What began as a music-oriented celebration has turned into a case study in how complicated it is to combine entertainment, patriotism, and politics during a crucial moment in the country’s history.
The concerts never took off due to the fact that performers did not feel like they had the right meaning behind the event.
Trump wanted a rally that would take the other kind of meaning.
