Second Shooting Occurrence Around White House in One Month Raises Questions about Security Conditions in DC – Latest: White House Shooting
The latest security shooting around the White House took place recently in deadly outcome when an unidentified person was shot at by agents and a civilian was injured.
In light of the recent White house shooting, concerns about security in the area have heightened significantly.
The shooting, now referred to as the White house shooting, took place over the weekend when the man approached the checkpoint close to the White House and started firing guns from his backpack. The victim of the shooting incident turned out to be the shooter himself and the civilian was injured but the reasons remain unknown.
Security Threats
Nonetheless, the bulk of attention from the national press seems to have been devoted to the shooting incident itself. Perhaps it would be more illustrative if one were to see the trend of increasing security threats that are cropping up around the nation’s politically guarded hot spots.
On Saturday, it was revealed that the latest shooting episode at the White House was part of the trend of three other shooting episodes within the last three weeks where the target was either President Donald Trump himself or was carried out around the White House.

Nasire Best, as per many news reports, was the name of the alleged 21-year-old gunman who had contact with the law enforcement before but more importantly, he was also apparently known to the Secret Service prior to the incident itself because he trespassed into the off-limit areas surrounding the White House.
The reason why this incident is more important than others is how quickly incidents of this nature have been taking place in Washington.
It has now become quite common practice to take temporary control of the area, put armed security checkpoints, issue emergency warnings, and return fire as soon as such an incident takes place near the federal building. Apparently, reporters at the White House had to hide themselves in safety due to shots being fired on the fatal Saturday night, after which some sections of the area have been taken into custody by the security guards at both federal and city levels.
All activities resumed in normalcy afterwards, and it is officially reported that the President of the United States did not suffer any harm during the course of the incident.
